The warranty period for MEISTER Longlife parquet products is 35 years. The warranty period for Lindura wooden floors, Nadura, Design, laminate, cork and linoleum floors is in accordance with the warranty time stated for each individual product from the MeisterWerke warranty conditions and for the concrete type of use described from the appropriate date of purchase.

MEISTER floors can be installed on hot water underfloor heating without any problems at all. Parquet, for example, is ideally suited for installation on hot water underfloor heating as besides wood’s specific heat it has the necessary thermal resistance for underfloor heating. With beech and maple open joints may appear on the short sides due to the woods’ naturally strong swelling and shrinking behaviour. With freshly heated screeds, installation should only be done after a proper heating up phase has been observed (even in summer) and the residual moisture measurement has been taken. The maximum surface temperature must not exceed 29°C.

The laying surfaces must be considered to be ready for laying according to the generally recognised rules of the trade observing VOB, Part C, DIN 18 356 “Floor covering work”. Therefore they must be dry, even, solid and clean.

MEISTER offers floors in eleven gradings: Harmonious, Ambience, Lively, Distinctive, Natural, Rustic, Mountain, Vital, Authentic, Country and Canyon. They differ due to their play on colours and structure and their share of knots, sapwood and brownwood as well as the treated cracked knots.

MEISTER offers the right cleaning and care product for every floor. However, all floors should only ever be wiped with a damp cloth at the most to prevent swelling of the floor.

This problem may be the result of the wrong cleaning products that form layers and therefore cloud the look. It is best to use suitable care products from the extensive MEISTER range.

As the floors are laid as a floating installation, you can walk on them immediately after installation.

Warping and cupping occurs if the planks are not acclimatised sufficiently before installation. Therefore store your new floors in the closed packaging on a straight surface in the room where they are to be laid for 48 hours before installation. Or due to the absorption of moisture, e.g. through the subfloor. For this reason a vapour barrier must be installed with mineral subfloors. It is best to read our detailed installation and care instructions before installation.

The bulging of the floor usually means that the expansion joints are no longer adequate in a certain place. (Wall/heating pipes, door frames, flooring profiles, etc.)

Due to the processing of wood material with climate variability, a so-called expansion joint has to be used at the join to the wall or ceiling as otherwise the floor may bulge. You can decoratively cover these expansion joints with edgings.

Decorative panels offer good resistance to light against fading due to sunlight.

In contrast to laminate flooring, fine wood is used as a covering element with parquet. With laminate flooring, decor paper is used that is protected by an overlay.

You can also lay MEISTER floors on existing floor coverings, for example plastic, ceramic tiles and boards or stone floors, it these old coverings are firmly stuck down and there are not any loose spots. You should also spread out a film on these subfloors as a separating layer. Plastic film must not be laid on existing wooden planks, wood based boards, OSB boards, drywall elements etc. as a vapour barrier. Any unevenness in the subfloor must be checked in accordance with DIN 18 202. Textile floor coverings, such as carpets, fibre-bonded coverings etc. should be removed beforehand for hygiene reasons.

Our naturally oiled parquet and Lindura wooden floors can be cleaned dry or wiped damp. The naturally oiled surface does require a regular polish though, which gives the floor a natural shine and accentuates the planks’ look even more.

Panels should always be placed vertically on walls in humid rooms. Ceilings and walls must be dry, windows and external doors must be glazed. We recommend MEISTER Bocado panels or MEISTER Terra panels in humid rooms. The MEISTER Terra panels impress with their Terracell coating and Terragen base board. These panels are proven to have an anti-mould effect.

With ceiling installation, panels installed lengthways extend the room, panels installed transversely balance out unfortunate proportions. With wall installation, vertical installation makes the room seem higher, horizontal installation makes the room look lower.

A special quality feature with all MEISTER floors is the special glued HDF middle layer. HDF stands for High Density Fibreboard. The most important component is the trunk wood from hard woods such as oak or beech. Added to this are soft woods such as pine and spruce, whose natural resin promotes the adhesion of the compressed fibres in the board. Selected glues ensure a perfect bond. This HDF brings with it many technical advantages, such as increased resistance to impressions, improved room noise, easy installation, good shape stability and a lasting secure joint lock.

With parquet floors with a spruce middle layer, these strips may stand out on the surface, also floors with this kind of middle layer have a lower area weight so the room noise is worse compared to floors with an HDF middle layer.

The intensive use of tropical woods endangers the ecological balance. We made a fundamental decision for our range: in order to protect valuable resources, we already removed all tropical woods from our range in January 2009.

The sound-absorbing layer is stuck onto the entire underside of the floor plank at the factory. There is no installation of any separate sound absorption insulation. The reduction of the footfall and room noise is achieved by special material components. The patent, which was ground-breaking in 1998, still belongs to the MeisterWerke portfolio today and has been further developed in terms of materials and technology.

On our products, you can mainly find our patented fold-down systems (=MasterClicPlus and QuadroClicPlus). Some floors are also fitted with angle and tap systems, like the licensed Uniclic profile and Multiclic system.

We are regularly tested and certified by independent institutes. Simply take a look at the following seals in the catalogue: the FSC seal, PEFC seal, The Blue Angel.

With parquet flooring we offer lacquered, matt lacquered, high-gloss lacquered and naturally oiled surfaces. The Lindura wood flooring is available in matt lacquered and naturally oiled. And cork flooring in matt lacquered and naturally oiled. Topshield is the effective surface protection with our linoleum floors.

We offer a number of surface finishes. Treatments, such as brushed, limed and smoked, make surfaces even more impressive. With the antique structure, scalloped edge structure and vintage structure we also offer numerous striking surfaces. Our Lindura wood flooring is very interesting in this context with its distinctive rustic nature, as knots, cracks and wooden pores are emphasised particularly due to the unique production process.

Wood is subject to typical changes in colour when exposed to direct sunlight. Depending on the intensity and light effect, light woods get darker or a yellow tinge. Darker woods get lighter. Even cork, a natural product, may change its colour when exposed to direct sunlight. It is possible that the floor will lighten in colour, depending on the room and the light situation. It depends on the floors’ colour-fastness. Nadura or Design flooring will not change its colour as quickly as naturally oiled parquet flooring.

Those days are long gone. So-called press plates provide floors with structure, for example with special pore effect printing, wood finish, various pore versions (matt pore, raw wood pore, stone pore).

Yes, linoleum for example. The basis for linoleum is natural linseed oil. It comes from flax seeds. The linseed oil is converted into linseed oil varnish by adding oxygen. Natural resins, limestone and wood dust are added. The mixture is heated up on a jute carrier layer, rolled and then dried. Lots of nature and a really ecological product! Our cork and parquet floors are also “natural”!

Linoleum gets its correct hardness-elasticity ratio in the drying chamber. Linoleum flooring leaves the chamber with a light “yellow tinge”, the so-called drying chamber film. This film degenerates after laying. Sunlight makes the floor take on its original colour. The length of time this process takes depends on the sunlight’s intensity. It occurs more distinctively with light linoleum surfaces than with darker ones. So you should not be surprised when you take your newly purchased linoleum out of the cardboard packaging. Your flooring needs a little time to find its colour.

Wear classes are specified for design flooring, cork flooring, laminate flooring, linoleum floors and Nadura floors in European standards. Private and commercial use are differentiated. All our collections meet the criteria of the highest wear class for living areas.

Standard vinyl flooring consists of a thermoplastic core. Our design floors are fitted with an AquaSafe special board that ensures a secure click connection and closed joint. With standard vinyl flooring the thermoplastic core expands due to sunlight and may produce “bumps” on the surface in the event of heat. The AquaSafe special board does not react to heat or sunlight. With standard vinyl flooring old subfloors may show through, this does not happen with design flooring.

An expansion joint is essential if a room is longer than 10 metres. What is important are the joints between two adjacent rooms, in doorways, open passages and irregular shaped rooms.

All premium laminate floors from MEISTER, the Melango, Micala and Tamalo, are suitable for humid rooms as they have the AquaSafe system’s comprehensive protection against humidity.

Yes, if the climatic conditions are complied with in accordance with the MEISTER laying instructions all year.
